What is social innovation

First, let’s define it. One of the definitions says “Social innovation is the process of developing and deploying effective solutions to challenging and often systemic social and environmental issues in support of social progress. “which is extracted from the Stanford Business website.

Social innovation

Personally, the founder of SIH started to know social innovation after she stepped into design thinking, which we will explain in another post. They both admire an innovative way of thinking and try to use a new solution to deal with old or upcoming social problems. We believe it is one of the social revolutions, in which people dare to challenge the status quo and develop a new methodology. And mostly is when some people realized that “clients” are not satisfied with the old service&products or due to the inefficiency, then innovation comes along. Social innovation to society is like the industrial revolution to society.

In a nutshell, social innovation is the ability to see the problems through a new pair of glasses then solve problems in an innovative way, in order to achieve the maximum impact.
