“Belief in your creative capacity lies at the heart of innovation”

Creative confidence is a circle process, which relies on thoughts and actions. First, you have to do regular thinking and take action. In return, it will reinforce the confidence in your creativity. I also learned the same methodology when I was in Uganda, the trainer taught us that the brain needs the constant stretch, be positive to knowledge not passive, hence you can generate as many as thoughts or ideas you can once your brain has been stretched.

Creative confidence is the ability to come up with new ideas and the courage to try them out

Based on my experience, the best way to stretch our brain is to go outside and experience the world deeply, to interact with people and immerse in their context. In Chinese, we say“讀萬卷書,不如行萬里路”, which literally means it is better to go outside and experience rather than reading books.

I remember one said that “if you don’t like the news which appeared on the tv or internet, then just go to make one by yourself” This is much emphasized on taking actions. I have to confess that I am not good at this but I am trying to take actions like building this website which has been existing in my mind for quite a long time.

Creative confidence has a great relationship with HCD, which is design thinking. And the authors actually built the HCD world and they are the founders of IDEO. So there are so many skills which are similar to HCD, you can refer to here.
